Handmade in Portugal

Every Egg Back Home piece is made by real people, in real studios, in Portugal. Our ceramics are handcrafted from high-fired stoneware — a dense, durable clay body that handles the everyday without fuss. Dishwasher, microwave, oven — your EBH pieces are made to be used, not just admired.

The material

We work exclusively with stoneware — a premium clay that is fired at high temperatures until it becomes vitrified, meaning almost non-porous (less than 3% water absorption). The result is a piece that is heavier and more durable than earthenware, with a satisfying solidity in the hand.

Safe for food and family

All Egg Back Home glazes are food safe, lead-free and cadmium-free. We hold ourselves to high quality standards so you never need to think twice about what's on your table.

Plastic-free packaging

We accepted the challenge of shipping fragile ceramics without plastic — and we did it. Every order is packed in recycled paper and FSC-certified cardboard. No bubble wrap, no plastic film.

Handmade means unique

Because every piece passes through human hands, small variations in colour, shape, and texture are natural and expected. These are not defects — they are the fingerprints of handmade craft. No two EBH pieces are exactly the same.
