Shipping policy

At Egg Back Home, every piece is handmade in Portugal. To make logistics smoother and reduce delivery times across Europe, your order may be dispatched from either our Portugal warehouse or our Poland distribution centre, depending on stock availability at the time of purchase. We work with trusted shipping partners to ensure your handmade ceramics arrive safely and on time.

Processing Times

Most orders are prepared and shipped within 2 to 5 business days. During high-demand periods or special product launches, handling times may be slightly longer.

If any item is out of stock or requires additional production time, our team will contact you with an estimated shipping date.

Delivery Times

Estimated delivery times after dispatch:

  • Portugal: 1–3 business days
  • European Union: 3–7 business days
  • Outside the EU: 5–12 business days

Delivery times may vary due to external factors such as customs delays, weather conditions, or local holidays. Once your order is shipped, you will receive a tracking number by email.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on destination and order weight. Free shipping may be available depending on your order value and delivery destination — conditions vary by region and may change over time. The applicable free shipping threshold, if any, is always shown directly on our website (look for the banner at the top of the page or at checkout).

Customs & Import Duties

International orders (outside the EU) may be subject to customs duties and import taxes. These fees are not included in the product or shipping price and are the responsibility of the customer.

We recommend checking your country's import policies before placing an order. If a customer refuses to pay customs duties and the parcel is returned to us, return costs and applicable fees will be deducted from any eligible refund.

Returned Parcels

If a parcel is returned to us because the delivery address was incorrect or incomplete, the customer refused to pay applicable customs duties or taxes, or the parcel was not collected at a pick-up point within the carrier's timeframe — the customer will be responsible for:

  • The original shipping cost (even if it was offered as free shipping)
  • Any return shipping fees charged by the carrier
  • Any customs duties or handling fees incurred by Egg Back Home due to the failed delivery

These costs will be deducted from the refund amount. If the customer wishes to have the order re-shipped, a new shipping charge will apply.

Damaged Deliveries

We take great care in packaging our handmade ceramics using protective and sustainable materials. However, in rare cases, breakage may occur in transit.

If you receive a damaged item, please contact us as soon as possible — ideally within 48 hours of delivery — and include:

  • Photos of the damaged product(s), the shipping box, and all packaging materials
  • Your order number

Email us at info@eggbackhome.com. We will replace the item or issue a refund or store credit after verifying the damage.

Holiday Season & Peak Periods

During the holiday season and peak shopping periods, shipping and delivery times may be longer than usual due to higher carrier volumes. We recommend placing your orders early to avoid delays.
