Our Porto Store — Outlet
Some pieces leave the kiln a little different. A glaze that pooled where it pleased, a curve a degree off, a mark left by the kiln shelf. They are not faulty — they are simply not identical. Those are the ones that find a second life here, in Porto.

Beauty of Imperfections
Handmade means no two pieces come out the same. In every firing there is a share that will not go on the website — the colour shifted, the shape leans, a speck of iron came through the clay. None of it makes a piece any less usable. Same clay, same kilns, same glazes, same hands.
Throwing them away was never an option. So they carry their own mark on the base — Beauty of Imperfections, made in Portugal — and they come to the Porto store at outlet prices.
More often than not, these are the ones people choose. A perfect piece is predictable. This one has something to say.
Inside the store
Stock changes with every firing — mugs, bowls, plates, cake stands and one-off pieces from New Party, Breeze, Cloud and Melting Ice Cream, plus collections that are no longer online. We keep no waiting list and hold no reservations. You come by and see what is there.
Questions we get asked
Is this a factory outlet?
In practice, yes. We are the brand and the ceramics are made in Portugal; the Porto store is where the pieces that do not go online are sold, at outlet prices.
Do you sell ceramics by the kilo?
No — and the difference matters. Pottery sold by weight is usually anonymous: no name on the base, no collection, nothing to tell you where it came from. Ours is the opposite. Every piece is a finished Egg Back Home design, priced on its own, and it carries our mark underneath. We do not hide the small imperfection that brought it to Porto. We put our name next to it.
Is everything a second?
Most of it. Seconds with small glaze or shape variations, discontinued series, samples and end-of-collection pieces. Nothing is cracked, chipped or unusable — we do not sell damaged stoneware.
How much cheaper is it than the website?
It depends on the piece, and discounts reach up to 70%. Stock changes with every firing, so the honest answer is to come and look.
Can I buy these online?
Only in the store. The pieces are one-offs by nature, so we do not list them on the website — that is the whole point of coming to Porto.
