There is nothing obvious when ordering to let the customer know that this product is coming from Portugal and the custom taxes are charged to the customer. We ended up paying an additional £59 and when we contacted the company they were more than happy to point out the (hidden) small print covering them. If we refused the order, we would have been liable for shipping plus the taxes. If we’d have had this clearly stated before confirming the order, like when shipping is calculated, then we wouldn’t have ordered. I guess this is why it’s hidden.

Thank you for your feedback. We would just like to kindly clarify that customs duties for International orders (outside the EU) are applied directly by the destination country’s customs office and are entirely outside of Egg Back Home’s control.
This information was available at checkout and in our Shipping Information section, and our international customers are familiar with these standard procedures. We understand that it can still be frustrating, but we assure you that nothing was hidden or unexpected from our side.

We replaced all of our old and damaged tableware and ordered a full set of New Party White, including 14 small and large plates, 6 large bowls, 6 medium bowls, and 6 mini bowls. The ceramics were delivered in less than a week and were perfectly packaged. I’ve never seen a parcel packed with such care and attention—each item was so carefully wrapped to prevent any damage during transport. And it worked: everything arrived in perfect condition.
The ceramics themselves are beautiful. No two pieces are exactly alike—the colorful details are all hand-applied, giving the entire set a unique and artisanal look.
We also had the pleasure of speaking with Raquel from customer service. A few months ago, we noticed that Egg Back Home’s Trustpilot page had some negative reviews, so we wanted to make sure the website and offers were legitimate. Raquel was incredibly helpful, sending us photos of the specific ceramics we were interested in, as well as pictures of the boxes used for shipping.
All in all, we had a great experience with Egg Back Home. We’re absolutely thrilled with the products we received and won’t hesitate to order from them again—or recommend them to friends and family.

I ordered those 6 mugs for a birthday present. Unfortunately one of them was broken. I mailed to Egg Back Home and they sent the replacement at once. I’m very content.
I have ordered two different designs which I loved one of them but not quite the other one, so I had to return. The customer service was very serious and nice, so I was very happy . And happy with my purchase with carribean series ! Beautiful sets !

Honestly in love with the Melting Ice Cream set. Every time I open the kitchen cupboards or make a meal it feels like a special experience. It’s brought more joy to dinner time. Waiting for Egg Back Home to bring out pasta bowls now to get the full house! Can’t wait to replace all our mugs too when they’re back in stock. Only slight frustration is no UK stockists have the 12 piece set, so we had to order form Portugal and the import fees were painful 🥲
